The Entry Level Certificate in ESOL International (A1) consists of three examinations: Speaking, Listening and Writing.
As all the International Qualification s are unitized, candidates can be allowed to retake examinations for the individual elements of the qualifications namely Speaking and Listening (Classic A1, A2, B1) for two-unit qualification and the four-unit qualifications.
Speaking and Listening skills are assessed together during a single examination with an Interlocutor at entry levels viz. A1 and A2. At Level B1 and above, Speaking and Listening skills are separated into two examinations.
These are available only in the UK as of now.
As has been mentioned above, this course is designed for beginners whose competence level of the English language is limited to the extent of understanding basic phrases and everyday expressions. More information about the same has been provided in the overview.
